On 14 November 2024 SS Care Trust marked World Diabetes Day with a health mela and walkathon in Davangere. Residents joined a public awareness walk before the mela opened for free blood sugar and blood pressure screening, one-to-one counselling on diet and physical activity, and information stalls on the Trust's non-communicable disease programs.
The event builds on the Trust's earlier World Diabetes Day camps, scaling a single-day screening camp into a district-wide public health event. It is part of a year-round calendar of health-day observances that also includes International Women's Day, World Health Day, World Hypertension Day (with a PULSE tele-ECG camp), World Breastfeeding Week, National Eye Donation Fortnight, National Nutrition Month, the International Day for the Elderly and Oral Hygiene Month.
