SS Care Trust's free haemodialysis centre has added four more machines, bringing the total to 16 units. The centre opened in 2021 with four machines for economically underprivileged patients with end-stage renal disease, and has since expanded in 2022, 2023 and now 2024 to meet the growing need in Davangere.
With 16 units the centre continues to complete more than 650 dialysis cycles a month, and by 2026 had delivered over 30,000 free cycles in total. Patients are referred through the nephrology departments of the affiliate hospitals; families who need help can contact the Trust office at JJM Medical College.
