Late Dr. Shamanuru Shivashankarappa

Late Dr. Shamanuru Shivashankarappa

Founder & Former Chairman

Former Honorary Secretary, Bapuji Educational Association

Late Dr. Shamanuru Shivashankarappa founded SS Care Trust and served as its Chairman. A politician, educationist, industrialist and philanthropist, he was a Member of Parliament once, a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly five times and a state minister, a career the Trust describes as a long commitment to the rights, welfare and empowerment of ordinary people. As Chairman he brought that breadth of experience to bear on the Trust's direction, making sure its programs addressed pressing social needs.

As Honorary Secretary of the Bapuji Educational Association, one of central Karnataka's best-known educational organisations, he helped establish institutions in engineering, medicine, dental sciences, nursing, management, pharmacy and Ayurvedic medicine. His philanthropy ran alongside: he established the SS Janakalyana Trust to provide scholarships for academically bright but economically underprivileged students, and SS Care Trust extends that same concern into healthcare.

Your support keeps the dialysis machines running, puts the Health-on-Wheels bus on the road and pays for the supplements that bring an anaemic child back to health. The Trust does not yet take donations online; contact the office to give and to receive the necessary documentation.
