Chaka Chak Davanagere was an intercollegiate cleanathon organised by the SS Care Trust Student Wing in association with Vahini NGO and the Municipal Corporation, Davanagere, at Kunduvada Lake. It brought together students from 10 colleges and turned a routine cleanliness drive into a collective movement for environmental responsibility.
Each college represented one team, with cleaning zones assigned through a chit-picking activity. Every team was entrusted with about 600 metres of the 4.6 km lake perimeter, where participants collected dry leaves, plastic waste and other debris, all of which was transported for proper disposal.
The initiative was graced by Dr. Prabha Mallikarjun, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Davanagere Lok Sabha Constituency, and Chairperson of SS Care Trust, who appreciated the students' commitment. The programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony and refreshments for all participants. A recycling machine was presented to Team BIET, with similar support planned for the remaining colleges.
